During March 2024, Point Insurance successfully launched its 5-year benefit period policy which is now available online via “Bindsure”. At a high level, it has been launched to assist general insurance (GI) brokers find their clients a suitable alternative to the Disability Income Protection market, which has been facing acceptability and affordability issues. This option is suitable to both blue and white collar workers and can offer cover for salaries up to $1million. In addition to the 5-year benefit period policy Point has also increased its automatic agreed value weekly benefit limit to $1,500. This is designed to further encouraged GI brokers to re-engage with the PAS product and see it is a really strong new business proposition to sell to its existing self-employed customer base. With no underwriting required for either the 5-year benefit period policy and or our standard PAS policies we see this as one of the easiest and most worthwhile policies to offer your clients.
