Crawford & Company has bolstered its specialty loss adjusting expertise with two key hires supporting liability claims and property claims considered ‘large and complex’. Andrew Webb returned to Crawford last week as NSW Liability Manager/National Executive Adjuster after successful stints with two competitor businesses. Meantime, Lynn Lappin has joined this week as QLD Large and Complex Loss Manager/ Executive Adjuster within the Large & Complex Property space. Head of Specialty Loss Adjusting Craig McLeod said the current competition for talent was fierce and he was thrilled to add people of Webb and Lappin’s experience and calibre to the team. “Andrew previously worked with Crawford for six years in a similar role so we know firsthand that he’s a superb operator and a great leader; it’s fantastic to have him back,” McLeod said. Crawford Australia President Tim Jarman commented: “People leave organsiations for a whole range of reasons, but I believe it says something about your workplace when they want to come back.” With over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry, 35 of those years as a practicing loss adjuster, Webb is widely considered an expert in liability claims. His work covers public liability, personal injury, product liability, contract works and professional indemnity. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters and a Senior Associate of ANZIIF (the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance). “Lynn has over 20 years’ experience in loss adjusting and solid experience leading teams. Her technical skills are a real strength but it’s her calm and approachable leadership style which is going to add real value to our Queensland operations,” McLeod said. Lappin spent over 10 years with her former employer, holding various roles across Major & Complex Loss and Commercial, as well as a senior management role in Melbourne. Prior to that, Lappin was in the UK where she worked for both an insurer and a large loss adjusting business. Lappin’s role is a newly created position as Crawford’s speciality loss adjusting division expands and attracts new work. In this role she will focus on handling large and complex losses, steering the large and complex team in Queensland as well as engage with the company’s broker and insurer clients to devise innovative solutions. “The market need for our complex loss skills is certainly increasing, so with that naturally comes the need to bring in additional top talent and both Andrew and Lynn are highly regarded within the industry. “These additions and our continued focus on developing talent will add significant strength to our specialty offering,” McLeod concluded. Webb is based in Sydney, while Lappin is Brisbane-based.
