Melbourne Market Exchange

680 brokers and 132 exhibitors attended Melbourne’s Underwriting Agencies Council market exchange in May. It is another excellent result that follows successful events in Sydney, Canberra, Wagga Wagga, and the Gold Coast. The number of brokers registering and attending is significantly higher than last year’s figures.

The feedback has been phenomenal; we are seeing more people attend, and new and old members exhibit for the first time. It’s proof that the Market Exchanges continue to grow in importance and recognition as an essential program for the industry to connect, communicate and network.

Driving greater member benefits

The Board has started working with an association membership consultant to review our current benefits and membership cost structure. As the organisation and our members grow, we need to ensure that the benefits we offer are relevant, valid, and scalable.

At the same time, we recognise that we have a wider range of voting members than ever before, and this has also been considered. In addition, we are working with our subcommittees and looking in more depth at Business Service membership offers and benefits.

Business Services member offers

We have received an overwhelming response to the request for Business Services members to provide exclusive offers and discounted services for UAC members. We have received many great membership benefits that we will be promoting to our members in the upcoming months.

UAC education and seminar program

The revamped program is proving to be very popular among members. We have a full agenda of member-focused webinars, and the attendance numbers are beyond what we had hoped. Over 1,000 participants have attended the 12 events in the 2024 series so far, and we have over 50 seminars scheduled over 2024.
