We look forward to welcoming you to the first event in our series of Emerging Talent sessions on 25 November 2020, where our resident experts will kick off an interactive tour of the property insurance world from the comfort of your WFH set-up.

We’ll be starting the series off where the story usually begins – a new claim hits the desk requiring consideration of what’s happened and the s.1 insuring clause trigger. Our first session will look at some emerging issues around damage (vs defects) and fortuity through the lens of the traditional key coverage requirements for a CAR/ISR claim.

Please feel free to pass this invite onto anyone in your organisation who may benefit from this session.

We hope you can join us. Register here.

More information

This series will consist of four 1-hour online sessions held throughout the year and run by W+K partners, with assistance from external experts. We will work through some educational examples in traditional and developing areas impacting property insurance claims.

The series will focus on:

  • policy trigger – defect v damage;
  • basis of settlement debate provisions under standard market offerings;
  • bespoke coverage clauses;
  • working through exclusions – what’s all the fuss about?
  • some simple BI adjustment issues and calculations;
  • unique issues associated with contingent business interruption, wide area damage, and catastrophe loss.

Who is it suited to?
We know that there is a generation of talent in the insurance market thirsty for knowledge on areas which many senior practitioners now take for granted. Bridging the gap between levels of experience is key. We are keen to engage with you to identify those within your organisation who you think will be up for some tricky but useful (and no doubt fun) analysis of property insurance claims.

Also – its free, and it carries 1 CPD point per session.

Who will be there?
We are expecting a variety of professionals from insurers, brokers and the adjusting community. We will introduce some guest speakers (barristers and experts) along the way.
