The Underwriting Agencies Council and its equivalent organisation in the United Kingdom, the Managing General Agents Association, are forging closer ties through a high-level meeting in Sydney next week.

UAC and MGAA have been affiliate members of each others’ organisations since 2016.
MGAA Chair Charles Manchester will have an extensive meeting with the UAC board in Sydney on Tuesday 20 March.

UAC General Manager William Legge said the two organisations had similar goals and ambitions and the high-level exchange of ideas and information would be mutually beneficial.

“UAC and MGAA are both very successfully promoting the interests of underwriting agencies and managing general agents to intermediated markets in the United Kingdom and Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Legge said.

“There is a wide range of issues we’ll explore together because of our commonality of interests.”

Mr Manchester is CEO of Manchester Underwriting Management Ltd, which underwrites UK and international business, with an emphasis on financial lines, through UK regional brokers and in the London market.
