The Underwriting Agencies Council is hosting an inaugural Seminar & Underwriting Expo in Wellington, New Zealand.
The event is on Thursday 3 August 2017 at Rydges Hotel, 75 Featherston Street, Wellington.
At 3pm, Paul Ash, Director of the National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO), Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet, will present a seminar on why cyber security matters to New Zealand, the NZ Government’s approach to security and how the insurance industry can assist.
NCPO leads and coordinates development and implementation of NZ’s cyber security policy. Paul Ash, previously a career diplomat, has led NCPO since it was established in July 2012.
The seminar will be followed by an Underwriting Expo from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, which will give NZ brokers an opportunity to talk firsthand with UAC members about the specialist, niche products and services they offer.
UAC General Manager William Legge said brokers had responded well to UAC Underwriting Expos in Auckland, which began in 2015, and in Christchurch in 2016.
“We’re expanding into other regions and Wellington, as New Zealand’s capital, was the obvious next location,” he said.
“We’ve received lots of positive feedback from NZ brokers so we’re delighted to be able to expand the seminar & expo concept more broadly.”
Brokers can achieve 3.5 ANZIIF points by registering to attend the Seminar and the Underwriting Expo and getting an expo exhibitor sheet signed by all exhibitors.
