NIBA has cancelled the 2020 NIBA Convention, due to be held in Melbourne in October.
CEO Dallas Booth said the NIBA board had closely monitored developments and advice about Covid-19 to ensure NIBA took the necessary steps to protect the health and wellbeing of staff, delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and suppliers.
While it was difficult to predict what the situation may be in October and what restrictions may still be in place, the board had made a difficult decision to cancel the 2020 NIBA Convention, scheduled for 26-27 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Dallas said the decision was not taken lightly, but the health and safety of all attendees was NIBA’s priority. “NIBA believes this decision will allow its members to focus on their clients, during what is a very difficult time for many.”
The next NIBA Convention will be at The Star Gold Coast on 11-12 October 2021.
