Andrew Gurney, Lloyd’s Head of International Regulatory Affairs, is guest speaker at a breakfast preceding the Underwriting Agencies Council’s Sydney Underwriting Expo on Friday 8 March 2019.

Mr Gurney is responsible for Lloyd’s international trading rights in more than 75 jurisdictions and leads Lloyd’s international and regulatory relationships. He also develops and implements Lloyd’s global regulatory affairs strategy in support of Lloyd’s strategic priorities.

UAC General Manager William Legge said Mr Gurney was a high-calibre speaker who would outline Lloyd’s perspective on the Australian and Asia-Pacific markets.

Mr Gurney joined Lloyd’s in 1998 and worked initially in the regulatory team before helping establish Lloyd’s risk management framework. In 2006, he moved to the international regulatory affairs team, with responsibility for international licences.

Before joining Lloyd’s, Mr Gurney held posts in the financial services sector in both industry and regulation.

The UAC Sydney Underwriting Expo has already attracted more than 90 exhibitors who will showcase their products and services to brokers.

The Expo is free for brokers to attend. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon drinks are included.

Mr Legge said: “This is UAC’s 20th annual Sydney Underwriting Expo and every year it grows bigger. It’s a key opportunity in the insurance industry calendar for UAC members to liaise face to face with brokers and explain in depth the products and services they offer.”

Brokers are encouraged to pre-register on the UAC website and download the UAC Events app to enable them to communicate directly with exhibitors and get CPD points. Click here for find out how to download the app.
