SUMMARY:Modern underwriting infrastructure for the Australian market - introducing Cuttleflow
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Max Broodryk – Founder and Executive Director \nAustralia’s insurance trading infrastructure — the systems where risk is priced\, bound and reported — is concentrated in ageing platforms at a moment when both incumbents face ownership upheaval. \nThis session examines what a modern system for an underwriting agency looks like and what it changes in practice: a broker’s submission read from the form rather than re-typed; straight-through quoting on deterministic rules\, so the same risk gets the same answer every time; automated referrals; built-in sanctions screening\, tax and billing; and a decision record that cannot be altered after the fact. It also shows how those same records produce the insurer’s monthly bordereau\, and what that means for the diligence questions capacity providers put to an agency. \nIt then looks at how an agency brings a new product to market in weeks rather than months\, and how digital intake — broker email\, web forms and connections from third-party systems — feeds the underwriting system without rekeying. \nThe session closes with a live walkthrough of Cuttleflow’s underwriting platform and how UAC members — agencies\, brokers and business service providers — can connect. 45–50 minutes plus Q&A. \nBy the end of this session\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the current structure of Australia’s insurance trading infrastructure and why it is changing now.\nExplain how deterministic rules engines\, automated referrals\, sanctions screening and audit ledgers change underwriting agency operations and compliance obligations.\nExplain how a single record running from submission to bordereau changes the evidence an agency can give its capacity providers and regulators.\nAssess the practical steps\, benefits and considerations for an agency\, broker or business service member adopting modern underwriting infrastructure.\n\nRegistrations: Modern placement and underwriting infrastructure for the Australian market – introducing Cuttleflow

SUMMARY:Cuttleflow Marketplace: win clients online\, then submit once and quote from every market
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: \n\nMax Broodryk\, Founder and Executive Director\, Cuttleflow Systems\n\nThis session starts with the client acquisition tools that Cuttleflow provides for brokers: \n\nIndustry pages and enquiry forms that run on the broker’s own website.\nA shareable link and QR code.\nA client app.\n\nAs a business owner fills in a submission or an enquiry\, on the website or in the app\, they can see an indicative or binding quote\, depending on what our participating underwriters have set up. The broker receives the enquiry with the answers already filled in as a warm\, qualified lead. \nIt then shows how the Cuttleflow Marketplace handles placement. The broker submits the risk once\, on a standard question set and wording. Underwriting agencies and insurers receive complete submissions\, checked against their own appetite rules\, and price them on the platform\, in their own rater or through an API. The broker compares quotes side by side and binds on the platform. \nBrokers can place a comprehensive range of 25 insurance classes in eight product groups through the Marketplace\, subject to underwriter participation in each class. All are on open Commons wordings: \n\nProfessional indemnity: professional indemnity (with profession wordings)\, financial services professional indemnity\, technology liability.\nManagement liability\, D&O\, crime and cyber: directors and officers\, Side A D&O\, management liability\, investment managers\, comprehensive crime\, cyber.\nMedical: allied health\, medical establishments.\nLiability and construction: public and products liability\, excess of loss\, construction all risks and liability.\nBusiness\, property and cargo: business package\, strata\, marine cargo.\nMotor: commercial motor (single vehicle to fleet)\, private motor.\nAccident and travel: personal accident and sickness\, group personal accident and sickness\, corporate travel\, travel.\nHome and landlords: home and contents\, landlords.\nExcess of Loss insurance.\n\nThe session is built around an interactive walkthrough\, so participants see each step as a client\, a broker and an underwriter.
