The Underwriting Agencies Council and Claim Central have signed a two-year contract for Claim Central to sponsor the members’ happy hour functions that precede UAC expos.
UAC hosts a three-hour “happy hour” function for UAC member exhibitors the night before its expos across Australia and New Zealand.
This year UAC is holding a record number of nine expos ¬– seven in Australia and two in New Zealand.
The expos are an opportunity for brokers to learn first hand about specialist underwriting agencies’ products and services.
UAC General Manager William Legge said Claim Central, an outsourced claims management company, was an ideal partner for UAC.
Claim Central provides claims services for property and motor insurance; insurance technology; and data insights and analytics.
Since its inception in 2002, Claim Central has managed more than 44 major weather catastrophes on behalf of Australian insurers and underwriting agencies.
Claim Central CEO Brian Siemsen said partnering with UAC was a natural fit and important in maintaining Claim Central’s innovative and disruptive position in the insurance industry.

UAC members exhibiting at the Sydney Expo on Friday 10 March at the Sydney Hilton will meet Claim Central’s team at the UAC Members’ Happy Hour on Thursday 9 March. Invitations have been issued to all exhibitors.
Mr Legge urged members to support organisations that actively support UAC.
